"Ransom Notes" is a three-part concept album. That's no small task for any group of musicians, but given that moberod is a one-man-band, it makes it all the more surprising.
Guitar-driven, chorded melodies crawl all over this 15-song, 52 minute dive from the aftermath, to realization, and finally, acceptance. The vocals drip with passion and angst, and the lyrics paint a picture that will surely be interpreted in 85,000 different ways.
By the time you reach Part III: Life Just Proves-Real Sins Bleed More, you're ready to see how it ends. Almost like watching a movie or reading a book. It sucks you in, holds you there, and won't let go.
Not for the faint, don't listen to this if you don't want to feel. But if you want to have a true musical experience, listen to this masterpiece.
